Videos & frequently asked questions (FAQs)
General FAQs
Does my child need to have a diagnosis?
No. Many families I support are on a waiting list for assessment or strongly suspect their child is neurodivergent. If you recognise your child in what you have read about Autistic, PDA or ADHD sleep struggles – long and drawn out bedtimes, frequent night waking, early morning starts – you are welcome here. You do not need a formal diagnosis to get evidence-based, neuro-affirming sleep support.
What do you mean by “neuro-affirming” sleep support?
“Neuro-affirming” means I aim to work with your child’s neurodivergent brain, not against it. I will not ask you to use “one size fits all” sleep advice for neuro-typical children or to ignore your child’s distress. Instead, I will create practical, easy-to-follow sleep strategies that respect Autistic, PDA and ADHD profiles so they feel safe and supported throughout.
Do you work online with families worldwide?
Yes. Most of my work is online with families all over the UK. I have also worked with families in the USA, and other countries, looking for neuro-affirming support with sleep. I am happy to offer online sleep support wherever it is required. All you need is a device for video calls. Home visits are subject to availability and limited to the UK.
How is this different from standard sleep training?
This support is rooted in evidence-based practice, enriched by neuro-affirming principles. That means I build the plan around your child’s neurodivergent brain, sensory needs and emotional safety, rather than expecting them to fit typical sleep rules and expectations.
Instead, you will use sleep strategies that respect who they are, how their brain works, and what they need to feel safe at bedtime AND throughout the night.
Home Visit Sleep Support FAQs
Who is the home visit best suited to?
This option is often best for families whose child’s sleep difficulties feel more complex, or who know they would really value me seeing their home environment and possibly meeting their child in person.
How far do you travel?
Home visits are limited and depend on location and availability. This is discussed during your free call so you can see whether this option is possible for your family.
Will we still have follow-up support after the visit?
Yes. The home visit is just the starting point. You then continue with fortnightly follow-up calls and weekly WhatsApp support so you are not left on your own to work everything out. You don’t have to do this on your own any more. I will be there supporting you.
Online Group Programme FAQs
Is this a live programme?
Yes. The programme includes live online teaching and live Q&A sessions. Replays are also included so you can catch up if needed and are available for several months after the course ends.
Will the group programme be enough if my child’s sleep feels very complex?
For some families, the group programme is a great place to start. However if your child’s sleep feels particularly complex, you may decide that 1:1 Online Sleep Support or 1:1 Home Visit Sleep Support would suit you better. I can help you decide what would be the best fit for you and your family on a free call.
