Words of Hope

from Parents Like You

If you’re feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, and unsure what to try next, you don’t have to figure this out alone. Sometimes the most reassuring way to understand what it’s like to work with me is to hear directly from the families who’ve already had me walking beside them.

Below is a collection of experiences from parents who were exhausted and dreaded bedtime and felt worn down by the daily battle to get out the door on time for school. They are now getting more sleep and have a renewed sense of confidence around supporting their neurodivergent child’s sleep.

Michelle helped us to identify the triggers that caused meltdowns at bedtime and how to make meaningful changes to help.

We needed to know how to do things differently to improve our bedtime battles and early morning wake ups, this programme gave us a range of practical strategies to help.

Michelle was kind, thoughtful and very supportive throughout, she took the time to answer questions and considered the differing needs of the families attending the course. She has extensive knowledge and experience in addressing sleep difficulties.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Our daughter is less anxious at bedtime, able to sleep better and is less reliant on us to fall asleep. The group programme has changed how we approach bedtime significantly and helped us support our daughter in a much better way. If we miss doing the things that Michelle recommended we really see her sleep patterns drop back again, so we know it works.

Michelle is warm, friendly and very calm. She is super knowledgeable and is an expert in supporting neurodivergent children to have better sleep.

Fiona

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I’ve tried so many sleep consultants and read all the books but they all offer standard advice which we’ve been doing for years. I did Michelle’s online 6 week group programme which was far more comprehensive and far from standard advice. Highly recommend the programme, Michelle is supportive and really understands different needs.

Sarah (Hunrosa OT)

Parent of 7 year old highly sensitive child

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Having begun with several wake ups every night, we now get to relax in the evenings and almost always enjoy undisturbed nights.

By implementing Michelle’s tailored plan, we saw huge improvement within days.

Michelle’s knowledge and advice was absolutely invaluable for us, providing practical advice on helping our daughter’s sleep as well.

Thank you so much Michelle!

The improvement we have seen is incredible..

Michelle is so knowledgeable and insightful. She listened carefully and provided tailored advice that met our child and our family’s needs.

We can’t thank Michelle enough for the hugely positive impact she has had on our child’s sleep – going from struggling to get to sleep each night to now falling asleep with ease.

We would highly recommend her to any parent struggling with their child’s sleep.

James

Parent of 10 year old with ADHD

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I am so grateful I found Michelle. She deeply understood the challenges my neurodivergent children with PDA had with their sleep and was able to offer an approach that supported them. The 6 weeks group programme has been invaluable. I feel much more positive about my whole family’s sleep.

You won’t regret signing up. Throughout the 6 weeks Michelle gave us evidence based and practical advice. The dedicated time each week to ask questions was brilliant and meant she could help me with my families our unique challenges.

Best of all, Michelle deeply understands PDA and the approach that is required to support children with demand avoidance – The programme was absolutely brilliant.

The programme is so thorough and the time to ask questions was excellent. I’m excited to put things into practice.

If you need help with your child’s sleep don’t hesitate about signing up. Sleep is so important, let Michelle help you. She is amazing, so articulate and passionate about helping neurodivergent families to get more sleep.

Our daughter was exhausted from falling asleep after midnight and we were at a complete loss. Michelle created a tailored plan that felt both practical and achievable. We saw positive changes within just a few days. Now falls asleep within 15 minutes of going to bed, sleeps through the night far more reliably, and is a much calmer and happier child. The impact of Michelle’s support has been life-changing for her and our family. From our first consultation, Michelle’s professional yet compassionate approach reassured us. We are extremely grateful for the difference she has made.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My daughter is going to sleep much quicker and no longer dreads bedtime and I now approach bedtime in a much more relaxed way.
I have learnt so much about how my daughter’s brain works that has helped the whole family. Michelle is fantastic, clear and super knowledgable. I learnt so much and felt less alone. I wish I had done the programme sooner.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We achieved more in 8 weeks than we have in years with other support. Our daughter is 13 years old and has struggled with sleep most of her life. She had not fallen asleep without me next to her for over 5 years. She is quite complex as she is autistic and struggles with significant OCD. Michelle really listened to us and helped create a routine where we were working towards her falling asleep on her own. The change in her sleep has been unbelievable—we’ve noticed a significant drop in her OCD before bedtime. After 8 weeks, she had a friend over for a sleepover—the first time ever!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Life changing! All thanks to Michelle, we have gone from stressful bedtimes that were taking 2+ hours every night to my daughter typically being asleep within 30 minutes. Bedtime is a much calmer experience in our house now. I learnt so much about how to work WITH our autistic daughter’s brain. Michelle’s fantastic, her knowledge and enthusiasm were incredible! It was great to have the Q&A sessions each week so we could ask your own questions and also hear other people’s experiences.

Laura (Scotland)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Thanks to Michelle our son is no longer waking at night and is much more regulated in the day. My husband was sceptical, because we have had other specialist input before, but this was worth every penny.

Kit

Parent of 8-year-old - Night waking and screaming (Autistic and PDA)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Michelle was not the first sleep specialist we’ve worked with, but she was the only one who left me to fully feeling empowered and equipped to support my son. When I first called her, my 4yo neurospicy kiddo couldn’t sleep anywhere except in my arms, and would wake screaming if I left the room. Bedtime took hours and had more in common with a warzone than the stereotypical bath and snuggles. I was exhausted, burned out, and emotionally in pieces. Within days of our first call, as I started to implement the tools Michelle suggested, his sleep was starting to improve and after seven weeks he spontaneously moved himself into his own bed in his own room (after sleeping every single night of his life in my bed), where he has slept happily ever since. Our 15 weeks with Michelle were life changing.

Alison

Parent of 4-year-old - co-sleeping (Suspected neurodivergent)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My husband and I were both very sceptical of joining a program, but so glad we did. After a couple of weeks of making changes, recommended by Michelle, he began sleeping through the night for around 4 weeks nonstop – we genuinely had more sleep then than the previous 10 years!!! We’ve had a few hiccups since but he still sleeps infinitely better than before and we feel we now have the tools to help with bedtime and his sleep. The course didn’t just help with my son’s sleep but also enabled us to understand our son’s ADHD brain and his perspective and reasoning. It was absolutely worth joining for us, I’d highly recommended it.

Penny

Parent of 10-year-old - with ADHD

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

In just a few weeks of working with Michelle, my son’s night waking has improved enormously and his levels of distress at night have eased. This has been truly transformative and we could not have done it without her. I would highly recommend Michelle to help with anyone’s sleep issues, particularly complex ones such as my son’s.

Sophie

Parent of 24-year-old - Night waking and self-injuring (Autistic with other SEND)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Michelle has been amazing. In just 4 weeks of working with her we’ve seen a massive improvement in my son’s sleep. It’s been completely life changing for us as a family. Michelle set up a plan that would meet our goals. She explained everything so well and was very kind and supportive.

Kerra

Parent of 4-year-old - Night waking (SEND)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This course will teach you so much, it’s one of the best courses I’ve done for years and would highly recommend it. I learnt so much, I now understand my little boy’s sleep needs and how sensory play can enhance sleep. It was lovely to have a group of parents come together week after week, sharing their challenges, knowing we weren’t alone. There were always plenty of opportunities to ask questions. Michelle has been wonderful, kind and supportive all the way through. She genuinely wants to help.

Bernadett

7-year-old - Autistic and early communicator

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Michelle has been incredible. Thanks to her my son no longer sleep walks. He’s a lot happier and calmer in the mornings. She has improved our family life massively. It’s clear Michelle has experience additional needs. I cannot thank Michelle enough for everything she has done for us.

I needed help with my 19 year old, autistic, non-verbal, daughter. Often, she did not fall asleep until 5am or sometimes not at all. Medication occasionally worked but wasn’t a long-term solution for her. Michelle created a bespoke, easy to follow, step by step sleep programme to guide the care team. Within just 3 weeks she was asleep by 11.30pm every night. I have been amazed at how successful the programme has been and my daughter is much happier in herself.

Charlie

Parent of 19-year-old - Falling asleep 5am (Autistic)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Michelle was brilliant in helping me solve my sons split nights from hell! She gave me lots of confidence, reassurance and a clear plan – Priceless!

Fiona

Parent of 3-year-old - Awake for 2+ hours every night (Autistic)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Michelle was great, I felt so well supported. She’s so knowledgeable and able to answer on the spot questions. I think the biggest takeaway for me was understanding what my son’s sleep needs are and how that was different to my own expectations. I have learned so much about his potential PDA profile, I now know how to manage this and lower the demands around bedtime. If you want to understand your neurodivergent child’s needs and get support for both you and your child, this course worth a go.Having the replays available to watch when I was ready were really helpful as my child was still awake when the live sessions were on.

Sarah

4-year-old - suspected to be neurodivergent

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Thank you for all your support Michelle, from our 1st call you made us feel more optimistic that we could help our 13 year old with sleep anxiety. We have gone from up to 3 nights a week of frustration, arguments and hopelessness to just 1 night in 10 where all is needed is a cuddle. Michelle has been kind, understanding and always there for reassurance and support during difficult times. Would 100% recommend her to anyone who is having trouble with an anxious teen at bedtime.

Nickie

Parent of 13-year-old - Sleep anxiety (Suspected neurodivergent)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Joining the 6 week course doesn’t just give you information, it gives you a cheerleader in Michelle and a community of other parents who completely understand your situation – and those are the two things that will give you hope and the motivation you need to keep going.

Our foster child would be awake for hours and wake up early every single morning. Michelle’s 6 week group program helped us understand the reasons for this and made us feel more confident that we would find a solution. Implementing some changes early on made a very quick difference to how easy bedtimes were feeling. We now have the tools in place to keep working on night wakings, which are happening less often as are the early mornings.

Michelle is brilliant. She is very gentle and kind but also confident in offering solutions and ideas to try if something doesn’t fit the child or family. Supporting a child to sleep better takes a lot of work, which is particularly tricky when you are sleep deprived and juggling other parenting needs and worries. But thanks to this course we now get more sleep AND feel much more skilled at problem solving sleep and understanding how neurodivergent needs differ from more traditional advice around sleep.

Anna

Foster child - suspected to be neurodivergent

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Michelle’s neuro inclusive approach to sleep meant that we could build sleep routines that would ensure our children’s sensory needs were met. Michelle really helped us. Her endless strategies and reframing of what sleep should look like for our children meant we felt really well supported and were able to achieve our goals.

Jessica

Parent of Siblings - Challenging bedtimes (Autistic)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We were spending most nights awake for hours. She was exhausted, dysregulated and self-harming and lashing out at us in the day. With Michelle’s help she is now sleeping through to 7am most nights. We are all coping much better in the day. I now feel I have the tools I need. Michelle has helped us tremendously, she really cares and I would highly recommend her to anyone. We approached Michelle at a time when we were really at our wits end. Our daughter has autism and a learning disability, she’s non speaking with very little understanding and we have been struggling with sleep for a year. This has progressively gotten worse spending most nights awake for hours. This was having a massive impact on her regulation in the day.

Laura

Parent of 4-year-old - separation anxiety and night waking (Autism, learning disability, non-verbal)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

So thankful I took the chance on this course – it was life changing. When I first spoke to Michelle I felt hopeless, I had tried everything and I didn’t really think another course would work but we were desperate.
My 4 year old son was aggressive at night and would stay awake until 1 or 2 in the morning and wouldn’t sleep alone. After working with Michelle for six weeks and implementing her suggestions (even though it was hard!) my son falls asleep by 8:30 at night, he isn’t aggressive, he is more regulated during the day, AND I GET TO SPEND TIME WITH MY HUSBAND AT NIGHT!!! All thanks to Michelle!

You can stay stuck in the cycle where nothing changes or you can do the hard work and get the help and advice from someone who truly knows what they are talking about and can help you. Michelle understands your situation and can lead you to a better one holding your hand every step of the way.

Michelle was so knowledgeable She listened to all of my questions and had an intelligent thoughtful response, she really knows what she is talking about. Her energy made me feel like she was a friend who truly cared about my children. She was so real and honest- our kids feeling safe was of utmost importance to her. Even though we were with 19 others on the course, it felt like I received 6 weeks of personal help with a large supportive team.

Michelle is amazing! Bedtime was taking 2-4 hours every single night. Within just a week we could see improvements. Beyond grateful to Michelle, she is definitely the person you need if you are struggling.

Parent of 10-year-old - Challenging bedtimes (suspected ADHD)

My son really wanted to go on the 2-night school residential, but neither of us had any idea how it was going to work. Every night for 10 years he’s needed me to lay beside him at bedtime and if he woke in the night, he’d get into bed with us. Through having Michelle’s help he now recognises he’s feeling tired and falls asleep by himself and stays in his own bed all night. My sceptical husband is shocked at how it’s worked. After two weeks it all of a sudden clicked into place. Not only did he fall asleep himself but he stayed in his own bed all night, and that is how it has continued! Sleep is now easier for everyone in our household. I just wish I’d found Michelle sooner.

Debbie

Parent of 10-year-old - Night waking and bed sharing (Autistic and PDA)

I wish I’d known so much of this stuff from when my children were born! The science of sleep, and neurodivergent sleep has been so helpful, and confidence building. Bedtime is so much better! Now we know more about timings and sensory activities etc and things are going well. I’ve learned SO much. I’ve felt so well supported that we’ve felt brave enough to stop giving one of our children melatonin and it’s been going well. Michelle was wonderful. It’s so nice to have someone who gets it, is not AT ALL judgemental of the approaches parents are taking with their children and so honouring of our children’s struggles. She talks in such a respectful and validating way of our children’s needs. It’s really so rare. Thank you!!

No matter what we tried, we couldn’t seem to make any lasting improvements. Bedtime is now a peaceful and positive experience. Beyond the improvements in sleep, we’ve noticed a significant change in Louis overall mood and energy. Michelle’s support and advice were nothing short of brilliant. The “why” behind her recommendations made all the difference—not just for us as parents but for Louis, too. He bought into the new bedtime routine, which was a game-changer. Two months later, the results have exceeded our expectations. Bedtime is now a peaceful and positive experience. Louis loves his pre-bed routine, which meets his sensory needs, and he falls asleep within 20–30 minutes every night. The success of this journey is down to Michelle’s expert guidance and the way she involved the whole family in the process. We can’t thank her enough for helping us achieve not only better sleep for Louis but a happier and more harmonious family life overall.

Balancing my children’s different needs at bedtime felt overwhelming. What I valued most about Michelle’s support is her ability to think outside the box and offer practical strategies with neurodiversity in mind that are tailored to our family. My children now settle to sleep on their own at a reasonable time and bedtime meltdowns have reduced to almost zero. Being able to enjoy calmer evenings has made such a difference to my mental health.

Parent of 7 and 9-year-olds - PDA and neurotypical siblings

Michelle is amazing and really knows her stuff. After battling with my son’s sleep, being woken up multiple times a night and him waking early in the morning we were all just exhausted. We had tried all the traditional methods but they weren’t working and after speaking to Michelle it became apparent why they wouldn’t work for our son who is possible ADHD. Instead of trying to keep him calm in the evenings he needed to be on the move and lots of helpful activities that were given to us has really helped settle him at night. He is now sleeping through some nights, other nights he resettles quickly.

Michelle has been instrumental in changing sleep in our household – we haven’t looked back! Her listening skills, ability to ‘deep dive’ into the problems and come up with pragmatic solutions meant that the plan wasn’t difficult to implement. She also has the skill of being able to constantly scan the horizon for issues we might not have noticed, which is both impressive and highly effective. This has been money well spent. Michelle has changed our lives. Her empathic and holistic approach right from the outset was clear; As soon as she had crafted a plan for us, we knew it would work. Every step of the way she explained – with genuine compassion – what changes were needed & why. From that very first night when we set our plan into motion everything changed, both our children went to bed and stayed in their bed. And just a few weeks later, they now both sleep through the night. From 7pm until around 6am. There was no trauma, no huge upheaval, just a gentle shift into a different way of approaching bedtime & night time for all of us.
